Borland Expands Partner Ecosystem for Open Application Lifecycle Management

Best-in-Class Partner Technologies Bolster Borland Lifecycle Quality Management Solution; Support Customers’ Existing Investments in Tools, Processes and Platforms

Cupertino, Calif. - Jun 18, 2007 : Borland Software Corporation (NASDAQ: BORL, www.borland.com), the global leader in Open Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), today announced it has expanded its Open ALM partner ecosystem to provide customers with solutions that further optimize and accelerate critical software delivery lifecycle processes. The partnerships further extend Borland’s Open ALM product strategy by bringing to market solutions that are flexible enough to support customers' existing investments in ALM tools, processes and platforms.

The new technology partnerships include Codefast™ Inc., dynaTrace Software and Ring-Zero Software. Each of these partners will provide unique and complementary technologies designed to bolster Borland’s Lifecycle Quality Management (LQM) solution. Specifically, the partners will enhance Borland® Gauntlet®, a continuous integration and test automation system, and Borland’s Silk product line of enterprise-class quality management solutions, with capabilities ranging from next generation build automation and performance diagnostics to advanced integration connectors that protect and maximize customers’ existing investments in third-party technologies.

“Borland’s vision for Open ALM is to enable customers to automate existing processes through the integration of any combination of lifecycle tools they choose – both Borland and third-party,” said Marc Brown, vice president of product marketing, Borland Software. “With the integration of the partner technologies announced today, we are building on our Open ALM vision by broadening our support for third party lifecycle tools, development processes and platform environments, while helping customers adopt a more comprehensive and proactive approach to software quality.”

* Borland Gauntlet integration with Codefast PerfectBuild™ – provides a Continuous Integration and Test (CIT) infrastructure that delivers maximum performance and scalability throughout the enterprise by overcoming the performance, reliability and adaptability limitations of customers’ existing build processes. The integration enables Borland Gauntlet users to access PerfectBuild’s pattern-driven build automation and management solution to create scalable, adaptable “push-button” builds across a wide number of platforms while fully utilizing customers’ existing build infrastructures.
* Borland SilkPerformer integration with dynaTrace Diagnostics® - enables developers and Quality Assurance to more efficiently detect, isolate and resolve performance issues in today’s complex, highly distributed and heterogeneous .NET and Java application environments. The integrated solution completes the performance testing and tuning process by combining Borland SilkPerformer’s ability to isolate performance issues through load and stress testing with the ability of dynaTrace Diagnostics to trace the root-cause of performance bottlenecks down to the code-level – accelerating problem resolution and speeding the performance tuning process for reduced costs.
* Borland third-party connectors delivered by Ring-Zero Software - designed to support and protect customers’ investments in non-Borland tools and technologies by providing integration connectors that will enable better use and management of those tools, including HP/Mercury testing solutions. The connectors will also help to provide meaningful alignment to better support ALM processes, traceability and tool usage across teams and projects.
